Podcast: Messianic Family’s Holocaust Legacy Opens Doors for the Gospel in Israel

In this deeply moving episode of “God-sized Stories with Patricia Holbrook,” Patricia Holbrook welcomes Devorah, one of the leaders of Dugit Outreach Center in Tel Aviv, to discuss the powerful legacy behind the book “Legacy of Hope,” the impact of Messianic Judaism in Israel, and the courageous story of Rabbi Daniel Tzion, who helped save thousands of Jews during WWII.

The episode centers around the book “Legacy of Hope,” written by Devorah’s father, Rabi Avi Mizrachi – a project that took eight years of research. The book chronicles the heroic story of Rabbi Daniel Tzion, Chief Rabbi of Bulgaria, whose bold actions alongside Metropolis Stefan from the Orthodox Church saved 50,000 Bulgarian Jews from Nazi camps during WWII. Importantly, Rabbi Tzion was also a believer in Yeshua, making his story resonate with both Jewish and Christian audiences.

Devorah shares moving insight about what it means to carry forward a legacy of courage and faith during times of crisis. She describes the pain and fear felt in Israel since October 7th, 2023, drawing compelling parallels to her ancestor’s wartime diary. The message is clear: their sacrifices laid the foundation for today’s generations, and God calls people now to stand up for truth, just as those heroes did.

The book has been received with great hope in Israel, especially among non-believers invited to hear lectures by Devorah and her father. It has become an incredible source of encouragement during war, reminding readers not to be paralyzed by fear, but to act in faith and unity.
